Arts Mentoring: Performing Arts Camp
Aimed at youth ages 12 to 18, our camp is rooted in the mission to mentor young people through the arts, specifically singing. Through the guidance of professionals in the field, young artists will be encouraged to explore a variety of music-related resources to further develop their vocal knowledge. Artists will have the opportunity to learn music theory, harmony, insights into the music industry and recording techniques, all while being mentored on setting goals and achieving dreams.
A final singing showcase will culminate the Singing Camp. Students will have the opportunity to perform their selected piece. Singing Camp Mentors will outline their experiences, influences, and expertise in the field of vocal performance.
Singers participating in the Garden Pathways Singing Camp are expected to have fun, learn, and explore the joy of performance!
Program Director: Amy Adams
Amy rose to national prominence as a finalist on America Idol, Season 3. She grew up in Oildale as a latchkey kid with a hardworking single mother. During her childhood, Amy experienced firsthand the importance of a mentor and community in a child’s life. Since American Idol, Amy has learned from some of the best in the industry. She has toured the country multiple times, released an album, opened a successful voice studio, and is in her fourth year with Las Vegas’ number one show, Le Rêve – The Dream. “I have always considered Bakersfield home, and feel it is my duty (and pleasure) to “pay it forward” and invest in our young people,” said Amy.
